Managing Director, Head of Private Equity

Rich Hall joined HMC in April 2014 as Managing Director and Head of Private Equity, responsible for assessing and enhancing HMC’s private equity strategy.

Prior to HMC, Mr. Hall served as Managing Director and Head of Private Equity at the Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), responsible for the pension fund’s $14 billion private equity portfolio. He also served as a member of the TRS Investment Management Committee. Previously, Mr. Hall was Vice President, Real Estate Investment Banking at Banc of America Securities (BofA), where he primarily focused on M&A advisory assignments with public and private equity companies. Prior to joining BofA, Mr. Hall served as Director of Corporate Development & Strategy at Tomkins, PLC, where he developed strategy and executed a series of acquisitions, joint ventures, and divestments.

Mr. Hall began his career serving as an Intelligence Officer in the United States Navy. During this time, he attained the rank of Lieutenant and was awarded the Joint Service Commendation Medal and two Navy Achievement Medals.

Mr. Hall received his BA from Harvard College and MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
